A man was shot dead and two others wounded Thursday morning in a shooting incident in Johannesburg, ER24 spokesperson Werner Vermaak said.
“One person was found with a fatal gunshot wound to his head,” Vermaak said. The dead man and two injured others were found in a veld in Westonaria shortly before 11am.
“Paramedics from ER24 and other services arrived on the scene in Westonaria where they were met by security and police officers.” Vermaak said wounded were in the open veld.
“Another was found in a critical condition with a gunshot wound to his chest. He was stabilised and later airlifted to a nearby hospital.”
A third person was found with three gunshot wounds to his legs. He was treated on scene before he was transported by road to a nearby hospital.
Police are investigating.
