A man, believed to be in his 40s, was killed this afternoon in a shooting incident at the Fabriek and CR Swart intersection in Strydom Park, west of Johannesburg.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 13h55 to find local authorities already in attendance.

A light motor vehicle was found parked in the middle of the road that had been closed off by the SAPS. The body of a man, believed to be in his 40s, was found lying inside.

Paramedics assessed the man and found that he had sustained several gunshot wounds and showed no signs of life. Unfortunately, nothing could be done for him and he was declared dead.

The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
