A man is in a critical condition after being shot in Commissioner Street in the Johannesburg CBD early on Saturday morning, Gauteng paramedics said.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found that a car had come to a standstill in front of a building, close to Polly Street, spokeswoman Chitra Bodasing-Harduth said.
“The driver of the vehicle was found slumped over the passenger seat. Upon assessment of the patient it was found that he had been shot in his shoulder and was in a critical condition.”
He could also not move his legs. He was treated and transported to hospital for further medical care. The reason for the shooting was unknown.
“However, while paramedics were on the scene they found what appeared to be the car radio that had been removed from the vehicle. They were also informed that other items in the vehicle, including the man’s belongings, were taken. Authorities were on the scene for further investigations,” Bodasing-Harduth said.
