Members of the sector were patrolling Eastvale in Springs on 13 December 2017, about 12:00 when they notice a male with a school bag in Swartberg street.
The police approached the person and requested to search the bag. While the police was searching the bag, they found two detonators explosive, one cortex and one gel explosive.
Immediately the police arrested the 26 year old suspect and cordoned off the scene. The explosive unit was summoned to the scene.
The suspect was detained for further investigation.
