A 25-year-old man was arrested in Johannesburg for allegedly raping his girlfriend’s sister, Gauteng police said on Wednesday.
Spokesman Captain Xoli Mbele said the man was arrested in connection with the rape at the VIP Hotel on August 8, at around 3pm.
“It is alleged that suspect raped a 20-year-old sister of his girlfriend. [The] suspect promised to fix a cell phone of the victim; he requested to meet her at MTN butchery. He bought food and they went to his place to eat; after that he raped her without her consent,” Mbele said.
“[The] victim screamed for help and the security guard came to her rescue; [the] suspect was apprehended and [the] police contacted.”
The man is expected to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
