In the early hours of Wednesday morning 27 November 2019, a brutal attack took place in Heuweloord, Centurion. During the attack a man, Gerrie Nel (68) and his dog were both shot dead. Gerrie was shot when he returned home, three black men approached and shot Gerrie in the chest and then shot and killed his Rhodesian Ridgeback dog.
Another dog was also shot but has survived the ordeal and was taken to the local vet. There is no other information available at this stage. Police are investigating the murder.
