A 39 year old man from Duduza was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Nigel Regional court.
This was after outstanding work by Duduza SAPS Detectives, Sergeant Magwaza and Constable Mofokeng EP who attended the scene and uncovered clothing that was concealed by the suspect. On 6 November 2016, Sergeant Magwaza attended a scene where a female was reported dead in her bed.
The husband who was in the house told the police that his wife came home with injuries and went to bed and alter died. But the persistence from detectives revealed that she was actually stabbed to death by the husband. Clothing belonging to the deceased was recovered in the bin.
The male was arrested instantly and connected through DNA with the murder.
On handing down sentence the court commended the acts by police which led to the arrest and conviction of the suspect. The man was sentenced to life imprisonment.
