During the budget vote debate of the Gauteng Department of Education, the FF Plus made it very clear that this Department has, under the leadership of its MEC, Panyaza Lesufi, joined the crowd of corrupt ones feeding off Covid-19.
The FF Plus made reference to the findings of the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) which stated that many of the tenders awarded for the decontamination and deep cleaning of schools were irregular.
The FF Plus finds it absolutely shocking that tenderpreneurs used the funds to procure personal luxury items and services, like cars, jewellery and even plastic surgery. Just like the Department of Health, the Department of Education has shamefully succumbed to the love of money at the expense of our children’s health and safety.
The FF Plus is of the opinion that the said tenders were not even necessary seeing as such cleaning of buildings and schools is not required by the Minister of Health nor by the World Health Organisation.
The FF Plus, furthermore, pointed out to Lesufi that South Africa is bankrupt and yet, money is being stolen left and right, seemingly with impunity.
If this does not come to an end, ordinary citizens are bound to revolt against the ANC.
