It is a case of a cold-blooded murder when a 45-year-old farmer was shot on Thursday, November 10, on his smallholding, situated outside Krugersdorp on the West Rand. At the time of the intrusion, his family were in the house.
The farmer’s wife and their children were in the lounge watching television when five unidentified men entered the house. Sergeant Tshepiso Mashele of Krugersdorp police reported. The suspects were all armed with guns. The woman screamed for help and her husband came out of the bedroom to investigate. One of the suspects pointed the gun toward him and forced him back into the bedroom. The ruthless attackers did not hesitate to kill the farmer who was shot and died on the scene.
The suspects broke the television set, and fled the scene with the farmer’s firearm, and an undisclosed sum of money.
The Krugersdorp police are investigating a case of murder and robbery. Nobody has been arrested in connection with the incident. Brig. Baloyi, station commander of the Krugersdorp police, expressed his condolences to the deceased’s next of kin. He pledged to allocate a dedicated and well-trained investigator to the case.
