A 44 year old man was arrested on 5 September 2018,for possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle that was stolen at a Kempton Park school between 17:35 and 19:45.

The sector members who were patrolling at Emfihlweni section, received an anonymous call from a member of the community. The caller informed police that there is a suspected stolen vehicle that is being stripped. The caller gave them description of the car and the street address.

Police members went to the address. They noticed the car which fit the description with the bonnet open. The two suspects who were busy in the engine on seeing police run away.

The police saw one other suspect who was inside the vehicle busy with the dashboard. They confronted him and was arrested.

It was immediately established that the vehicle was stolen from a parking at Kruinsig skool in Kempton Park. The owner alleges that she went to the school to watch her son dancing at about 17:30. When she came out, she went to the parking where she parked her motor vehicle. The motor vehicle was not found only the bumper was left behind.

She opened the case at Kempton Park police station.

The 44-year-old man will soon appear before the Tembisa Magistrates’.
