The crisis in the once leading academic hospital, Kalafong is deepening every day from a seemingly obvious management problem.
Besides the infrastructure collapses with broken basins, the young doctors who have to do their compulsory community training have to do it all because the sisters refuse to do tasks that they usually have to do, such as inserting a drip because this is by no means their job. This leads to the fact that patients may be in casualty all week without being treated and without eating or drinking anything.
Patients were also upset when a child’s body was carried through the entrance hall to a police forensic vehicle, instead of using the back door intended for it.
