K9 unit sniffs out R400k worth of drugs, Johannesburg

Police from Johannesburg West Crime Intelligence, West Rand K9 and Randburg police station acted together and arrested a man that was found in possession of drugs in Johannesburg on Sunday, 9 August 2020.

Police received information about a suspect that was to transport drugs. An intelligence driven operation was launched and observation was kept on the suspect.

The police spotted the suspect moving from a restaurant and he was followed to his apartment and a search was conducted. Through the narcotics sniffer dog, police discovered drugs to the estimated value of R400 000-00. The suspect was arrested for possession of drugs.

Gauteng police will continue to intensify the fight against proliferation of drug dealing in the province.

The arrested suspect will appear at the Randburg Magistrates Court in due course.
