GAUTENG — A fatal Baccleuch Interchange shootout has resulted in the deaths of three suspected Rolex gang affiliates and the arrest of a fourth individual, capping off a dramatic multi-agency law enforcement operation on June 25, 2026.
The tactical intervention was triggered by actionable intelligence pointing to a coordinated criminal syndicate. Authorities learned that a group of men operating in three distinct vehicles was actively scouting shopping centers, with strong indicators linking the crew to the notorious Rolex gang.
The Gauteng Tactical Response Team (TRT) intercepted the trail of one targeted automobile along the N3 highway. Instead of complying with police directives to pull over, the driver accelerated, sparking a high-speed pursuit that quickly escalated into an exchange of gunfire.
To neutralize the fleeing suspects, the TRT was heavily reinforced by the Provincial Anti-Gang Unit, the Gauteng Traffic Air Wing providing aerial support, and several private security firms. The chase ultimately concluded when the suspects’ vehicle halted at the Baccleuch Interchange. Officers confirmed that all three occupants were fatally shot during the confrontation and pronounced dead at the scene. A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded two handguns.
As investigators secured the perimeter and processed the fatal crash site, a secondary targeted vehicle was identified navigating nearby traffic. Police successfully intercepted the car, apprehending the lone male driver. He is now facing formal charges of conspiracy to commit robbery.
