The FF Plus organised an integrated anti-drug raid at Amandasig in Akasia, Pretoria, which was successfully executed in the early morning hours of 20 October 2022.

The raid was initiated by Mrs Rina Marx, FF Plus councillor and Mayoral Committee Member for Health and Social Development in the Tshwane Metro Council.

It was in response to the various complaints of drug abuse she received from sectors of the Community Policing Forums in Akasia.

Marx approached the FF Plus’s Mayoral Committee Member for Security in the Metro, Grandi Theunissen, to help organise the raid operation.

The main aim of the raid was to eradicate drug trafficking and abuse in the area surrounding the Amandasig High School.

The raid was jointly executed by the Tshwane Metro Police, the police, the Department of Home Affairs and members of the local Community Policing Forums.

Marx also participated in the raid and was accompanied by various FF Plus councillors, namely Dehan Harmse, Roché Grebe, Pieter Meijer and Mark Surgeon.

During the raid, drugs and alcohol were seized. Various undocumented foreigners were also detained.

The Department of Social Development was contacted for assistance with the minors of the foreigners.

This successful raid serves as proof that the FF Plus, as the central party and stable coalition partner in the Tshwane coalition government, leads from the front in the war on drug trafficking and abuse.

The party does this to make the Tshwane Metro a liveable and safe place for all residents.
