Hundreds of people have been left homeless after a fire broke out at an informal settlement named Plastic View, in the Pretoria Area. It is believed that a child and four adults died during the fire. Over 1500 residents have been affected by the fire and over 300 hundred homes were gutted. Those who were left homeless have been accommodated at a local church.
The Premeir of Gauteng Honourable David Makhura and the Executive Mayor of Tshwane Cllr Kgosientso Ramokgopa visited the informal settlement of Plastic View, east of Pretoria and called upon parties to help with the disaster.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
