Last night, 3 July 2018, just after 20:15 the Drift reaction control centre received numerous panic signals from a property in Copperhouse Road Nooitgedacht.
While Tactical Units were on their way the client phoned in and reported that she heard shots coming from a room on the property.
On arrival the Tactical Units found the client and the victims inside the room. The victims said that two armed and extremely aggressive men forced the door of their room.
The victim’s husband was inside the bathroom at that stage and the two forced her into the bathroom with him. They demanded cash which the victims did not have. All of a sudden they opened fire and the victim was struck twice in the upper body. According to the victim three shots were fired.
The control centre dispatched the police and ER24 but the client did not want to wait for an ambulance and drove the victim to the main road where the paramedics stabilized her and raced her to hospital as she was bleeding profusely.
Tactical Units searched the property for leads however the suspects had by then disappeared. They fled with two cell phones!
All the violence for two cell phones! We were informed that she passed away due to the gunshot wounds this morning. Our condolences to her family.
