Yesterday morning just after 10am Emer-G-Med paramedics responded alongside provincial services to reports of a shooting incident on the corners of Witkoppen and Douglas, in Douglasdale, north of Johannesburg.
It’s reported that a hijacked vehicle was spotted by police officers. A high-speed car chase ensued, which came to a end after a shootout between police ans the suspected hijacker.
The suspect sustained a single gunshot wound and was stabilised by paramedics at the scene, before being transported to a nearby facility, under police guard, for further management
The suspect is believed to be a part of a recent hijacking syndicate in Johannesburg’s northern suburbs.
