Hijacker shot dead in Rosettenville

A man, believed to be in his 20s, has been shot-and killed this afternoon at a water treatment plant at the corners of Rosettenville and Fernell Road in Rosettenville, Johannesburg.

ER24 paramedics received a call from the local authorities for medical assistance.

Upon arrival at scene, ER24 paramedics were instructed by local authorities to stand-by at a safe distance. Numerous local enforcement members as well as the SAPS helicopter were on the scene.

After a short time, paramedics were called into a building where they found the body of the man.

Paramedics assessed the man and found that he had already succumbed to his fatal gunshot wound. Unfortunately, nothing could be done for the man and he was declared dead on the scene.

It is understood that the deceased had been chased by the local authorities after an alleged hijacking.

Local authorities will be conducting an investigation into the matter.
