A man, believed to be in his 40s, was left critically injured after he was shot in the back on 1st Avenue in Houghton, Johannesburg.
ER24 paramedics, along with Provincial services, arrived on the scene and found the man lying partially inside his guard hut.
On assessment of the patient, paramedics found that the man had sustained a gunshot wound to his back, leaving him in a critical state.
Paramedics removed the man from within the hut and immediately began their treatment, providing the patient with numerous advanced life support interventions.
Once treated, the patient was transported to a private hospital for further treatment.
The details surrounding this incident are not yet known and are subject to the investigation of local authorities.
