Bobela’s employees who belonged to the Untu trade union have announced that they will strike on Tuesday 31 July 2018, following a wage dispute.

They demand a housing allowance of R1 600 per month as well as a 10% increase. However, Bombela offered “only” an 8% increase.

Untu members represent about 67% of all Gautrain workers and this can have a significant impact on the operational procedures of the train services.
