Operation Okae Molao yields positive results as it proceeded to different station policing precincts namely Barrage, Sharpville and Boipatong, where Law enforcement agencies jointly conducted vehicle checkpoints, stop and searches and managed to search 160 Vehicles and 394 Persons.

A total of six suspects were arrested for different crimes ranging from undocumented persons, possession and selling of illicit cigarettes in transgression of the Disaster Management Regulations and total traffic fines of R5200 were issued.

The Station’s Social Crime Prevention used the opportunity to reach out to their communities through distributing 1506 pamphlets, starting a vegetable garden for the less privileged and feeding 300 beneficiaries with soup and bread.

The team lead by the district Commissioner, Major General Zodwa Ettie Molefe visited the policing areas and contributed greatly to the success of the operation. The team carried out compliance inspections at Tuck shops, inspecting expired food items.

The arrested suspects will appear in the various local Magistrate’s Courts soon.
