In Yeoville on the night of 22 June 2019, at about 00:00, police arrested a suspect that is an illegal immigrant. The suspect was linked to many cases that include robberies, fraud, house breaking, theft and shoplifting. The crimes were allegedly committed in Johannesburg, Yeoville, Linden, Moffat View, Honeydew, Hillbrow and some other provinces.

Meanwhile police conducted operations in Yeoville and Mamelodi over the weekend. During the operations seven liquor outlets were closed. Suspects were also arrested for possession of drugs, robberies, and other crimes.

During the operations ten unlicensed firearms were recovered during roadblocks and stop and search.

Furthermore two suspects were arrested in Silverton for dealing in drugs and possession of drugs, undisclosed amount of cash and drugs were seized.

The arrested suspects are expected to appear in various Magistrates’ Courts soon.

Gauteng Provincial management commended the police officers for continuing putting the people of Gauteng first by arresting most wanted suspects.
