Gauteng Police continued with O Kae Molao Operations and other crime combating operations this past weekend, where they arrested more than 1390 suspects for various crimes.

One hundred and forty-three of these suspects were arrested for cases that are related to gender based violence, where most of the victims are women.

While District Commissioners led operations in their respective districts, the Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Elias Mawela joined the District Commissioner of West Rand, Major General Fred Kekana and senior management from the SAPS, Home Affairs Immigration Services, Mogale City Traffic Police, Community Police Forum, the vehicle tracking company Tracker, Fidelity ADT and other private security companies as they took to the streets of Kagiso and arrested more than 54 suspects for crimes that include possession of stolen motor vehicle, driving while under the influence of alcohol, possession of drugs, illegal mining and undocumented persons.

One hundred and forty-one other suspects were arrested in West Rand, including 49 suspects that were traced and arrested by the detectives after they have been on the run.

The arrested suspects will appear in various Magistrates’ Courts soon.
