Numerous reports are circulating about gate motors being stolen during the night in Honingklip. The Criminal Intervention Squad received some information about suspects that might be involved.
Together with the Iron Fist Squad, they pounced on a worker employed as a driver by a business in Honingklip. The worker was interrogated who said he lived in Tarlton. They took him to his house where they found numerous gate motors, gate motor housing, electronic equipment, housebreaking implements as well as a number plate. It is confirmed that the number plate belonged to a car stolen during 2014.
When they checked his identity number it was found that he was previously involved in an armed robbery, found in possession of an unlicensed firearm and still wanted for housebreaking and theft.
The vehicle he used to transport the stolen motors is a Navy Polo with a White bonnet.
It is assumed that the suspect did not operate on his own and the South African Police will investigate.
