The Garsfontein police outside Pretoria are investigating the murder of Frik Botha (82) after he was attacked in his home on Saturday 17 March 2018.
Captain Anton Breedt a police spokesperson said Mr. Botha was alone at the time of the attack and it is unclear what was stolen or how many suspects were involved.
After the violent attack Botha was able to contact a friend for help but died from severe injuries before he arrived at a local hospital. He had wounds on his head and all over his body from the brutal attack.
Weane Bodenstein, Botha’s granddaughter, posted a heartfelt message on facebook to try create awareness and to share this gruesome deed. And she questions the need for such brutality considering her grandfathers frail state.
No arrests have been made and the investigation continues.
