Four men between the ages of 18 to 30 years were arrested while offloading spaghetti and macaroni from a hijacked truck by Johannesburg Flying Squad in Faraday, south of Johannesburg, police said on Monday.

The white Scania truck was hijacked in Evaton on Sunday the same day the suspects were arrested.

“Suspects used a jamming device to disturb the tracker and later the tracking company located the truck in Johannesburg CBD,” said Captain Xoli Mbele in a statement.

Mbele said police were contacted and they found the truck in the veld, where four suspects were offloading Fattis & Monis products. All the suspects were arrested and two jamming devices were recovered.

The suspects will appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court.
