Four arrested for business robbery in Heidelberg

Police arrested four male suspects aged 28, 34, 36 and 38-years-old respectively for possession of stolen motor vehicle and business robbery along Schoeman Street, Heidelberg town on 05 August 2019 at 10:30.

Police received an information from the community of a suspicious white Mercedes Benz with four occupants in a parking lot of Bamco Sweet Supermarket. Community kept close observation whilst reporting to the Police. Quick response by Warrant Officer Johannes Lukas Wolmarans and Sergeant Jeffrey Vusumuzi Zondo, lead to the arrest of the suspects. Police searched the occupants and motor vehicle and detected that the motor vehicle engine number was tempered with.

Upon motor vehicle circulation, it came out belonging to the owner from Pretoria. Investigation was conducted and the owner confirmed to Police that he have his car next to him in the garage. The suspects were immediately arrested. Two of the suspects were linked to the business robbery at Nigel where a businessman was robbed at gun point earlier this month.

The Station Commander, Colonel Amanda Dorothy Viljoen, appreciated and congratulated the work well done by the two Police Officers in executing their duties in a very professional way.

The arrested suspects will appear before Heidelberg Magistrate Court soon.
