The SAPS Gauteng Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Elias Mawela has welcomed the conviction of a 46-year-old former police officer, Rosemary Ndlovu who was found guilty by the Palmridge High Court on Friday 22 October 2021, for orchestrating the murders of her family members.

Judge Ramarumo Monama found Ndlovu guilty of six counts of murder, six counts of incitement to commit murder, four counts of fraud, two counts of defeating the ends of justice and one count of conspiracy to commit murder.

Lieutenant General Mawela has commended the team of detectives that have worked with diligence to collect evidence that led to the successful conviction of Ndlovu.

“I am pleased with the way detectives handled this investigation despite the accused being a former police officer. This is indicative of our commitment to root those that are not worthy to wear the blue uniform out of the Service. We will continue with our commitment to investigate all cases without any favour or prejudiceā€, said Lieutenant General Mawela.

Ndlovu will appear again at the same court on 5 November 2021, for sentencing.
