Members of Crime Intelligence and Johannesburg Flying Squad arrested five suspects and recovered five firearms.
Gauteng Police were following up information about a planned robbery when they stopped the suspects traveling in a blue Toyota.
The suspects will be charged with possession of unlicensed firearms and conspiracy to commit an armed robbery.
