ELDORADO PARK — An Eldorado Park firearm arrest took place Thursday evening after law enforcement intercepted a suspect carrying a concealed weapon. Acting on a precise Crime Intelligence tip-off, joint patrols successfully confiscated the unlicensed gun and ammunition before the individual could escape the scene.
The collaborative operation involving the Eldorado Park Crime Prevention Unit and Gauteng Traffic Wardens was underway when the dispatch came through at approximately 20:00 on 11 June 2026. Authorities were directed to a bus stop situated on Boundary Road in Eldorado Park Extension 9, directly across from a local liquor store, where a man was reportedly loitering with illegal weapons.
Upon reaching the specified coordinates, officers immediately spotted a man matching the provided description. Realizing the presence of the police vehicle, the individual attempted to evade capture by running toward the Kersiedorp Section. However, the tactical response team quickly tracked him down and blocked his escape route.
After obtaining consent to conduct a physical search, officers discovered a black 9mm Norico handgun secured at the suspect’s waist, along with live rounds. Because he could not provide the legally required firearm license, he was immediately taken into custody.
The accused is expected to make his first court appearance shortly to face charges of possessing an unlicensed firearm and ammunition, while detectives continue their inquiries into the matter.
