A farm murder took place on 4 August 2020, just before 06:00, in Moonlight Crescent, at Elandsfontein agricultural holdings, in the Gauteng province of South Africa. Three attackers overpowered a family in their home. They the shot mother in the chest, shot the daughter in the upper leg and shot the father, who tried to stop the attack, in the head.
Sadly the father passed away on the scene. When the daughter was able to, she messaged the neighbour for assistance who in turn raised the alarm. The daughter and mother were both airlifted to hospital.
It is unclear what was taken during the attack but it seems that only a cell phone was robbed. There is no other information available at this stage. There have been no arrests.
