On 30 May 2018 at 01:30 a farm attack was averted when an armed attacker, who was climbing through the window, on a smallholding east of Pretoria, was shot dead.
After the dog alerted a woman in the house, she noticed an armed male in the garden.The woman then quietly took her son to her sister and her husband’s room. She contacted the landlord to summon help when she heard the window opening. Her brother in law who is on crutches after a recent amputation moved through the house with her to investigate.
The attacker was seen getting through the window and he was armed. The woman’s brother in law the fired a shot before the intruder could fire on them. The attacker was killed. SAPS, a security company and forensics was on scene quickly. Nobody was injured and nothing was taken during this failed attack.
