Effective cooperation between the police and farming community on the night of 10 July 2022, ensured that the offenders were apprehended shortly after a couple was attacked on their farm in the Bloekomspruit area in Sedibeng in the Gauteng province of South Africa.

Mr. Basie and Mrs. Ina Rosslee were overpowered in their home on Sunday evening. Mrs Rosslee was able to contact the owners of the adjacent farm who rushed to the scene.

The thieves made off with their haul and fled in the direction of Deneysville, where they were arrested.

Among other things, the couple’s firearms were recovered.

Mr Rosslee was seriously injured in the attack and taken to a hospital.

Amid the violence and political instability in which Gauteng farmers find themselves, they have no other choice but to get involved with local community security structures.

The FF Plus will keep fighting for a special rural safety unit that focuses on the prevention of farm attacks and livestock theft in cooperation with farmers and other safety and security forums.
