A farm attack took place on 27 June 2020, at 21:44, in Zwartkrans, north of Krugersdorp, in the Gauteng province of South Africa. A husband and wife were ambushed and attacked by two armed suspects when they arrived home and were unpacking groceries. One attacker fired at the husband but fortunately the firearm malfunctioned.
The couple fled into the house and the wife returned fire on the attackers who now were firing at the couple. There were five attackers who having been met with a barrage of gunfire fled the scene having stolen nothing. The couple then raised the alarm and took cover in the bathroom.
Response was swift and the couple were found luckily uninjured. Things could have been very much worse. The neighbourhood watch and security companies patrolled the area but there were no arrests.
