Just after midnight the home owner, his girlfriend and his brother were outside having a braai. The owner went into the house to fetch something when his girlfriend and brother came into the house accompanied by three armed suspects.
The victims were bound and during the scuffle the owner was struck on his nose. The suspects ransacked the house and made off with expensive flat screen TV’s, clothing, expensive cell phones as well as a 12 Bore Shotgun and a 308 Rifle with a lot of ammunition.
They managed to untie themselves and called for assistance. Drift Reaction cc vehicles were dispatched and started searching the veld. The suspects had isolated and cut the electric fence to gain access onto the property. They exited through the same cut however we are sure that our reaction time was so quick that they dropped the flat screens as well as a bag with ammunition during their haste to flee.
Not all the ammunition was recovered and they are now in possession of a hunting rifle and shotgun with ammunition.
The victims did not sustain any further injuries however they were severely traumatised.
This is extremely bad news as they can cause havoc with the shotgun and rifle during future armed robberies.
Police are investigating.
