Grieving families and community members gathered outside a local police station in Eldorado Park, Gauteng yesterday to call for an end to gun violence following a recent fatal shooting of two teenage boys.
The protest comes after a recent attack that claimed the lives of the youths, reigniting anger over ongoing gang violence and crime in the area. Residents held placards demanding increased police visibility, stricter gun control, and better protection for children.
A Community leader said, “We are tired of burying our children. The police and government must act now before more lives are lost.”
Local authorities have promised to ramp up patrols, but residents insist long-term solutions are needed to tackle the root causes of violence.
