Mlando Ndwandwe (30) was on Thursday, 15 March 2023 sentenced to fifteen years’ imprisonment in the Vosloorus Magistrate’s Court following a resourceful exploration by the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation team.

Ndwandwe, a resident of Vosloorus was arrested during an authorised search and seizure operation on 11 October 2017, after it emerged that he was a supplier of commercial explosives in the East Rand.

The said commercial explosives are mostly used during cash-in-transit heists and ATM bombings.

Following numerous court appearances the matter was finalised on Thursday, 15 March 2023.

Ndwandwe pleaded guilty due to the overwhelming evidence and testimony presented to court by the investigator in concert with the prosecution team.
