An elderly female sustained serious injuries after an armed robbery inside a Woodmead office park yesterday afternoon.
Shortly after 2 pm Emer-G-Med were dispatched to the emergency call.
It’s alleged that the victim, aged 65, was hit with a firearm, when a group of assailants approached her demanding her jewellery.
On assessment it was found that the patient had sustained multiple facial fractures, requiring Advanced Life Support intervention.
Once stable, paramedics transported the lady to a nearby specialist Trauma Hospital for further management.
The South African Police Services were at the scene to investigate and explore any leads.
