At 19h30 on Friday night Netcare 911 paramedics were called to a mugging along Garsfontein Road in Pretoria.
Reports from the scene indicate that the sixty-eight-year-old-female was walking near the Waterglen centre when she was attacked. Exact detail to the incident will remain a subject for police investigation.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and found that the elderly woman sustained serious injuries.
She was treated at the scene and then transported to hospital under the constant care of an advanced life support paramedic for further treatment.
