The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Bronberg Precinct Officers, together with the Putfontein South African Police Service (SAPS) Members, steered an anti-drunk and driving operation, in the Putfontein area.
The operation, was conducted at the corner of Durant and Geldenhuys where the focus of the day, was identifying motorists driving while under the influence of intoxicating substances plus, failing to comply with the rules of the road.
Whilst the Officers were busy with their operation, they came across eight motorists, driving while under the influence of intoxicating substances and some by-standers tried to interfere with their duties, shouting that the Officers should leave the drivers as they did not cause any accidents.
The Officers arrested all eight males, after taking them to the nearest health care centre for blood samples. The suspects, between the ages of 25 and 46, were detained at the Putfontein police station and will soon appear before the Magistrates…
