Members of the Gauteng Police Highway Patrol Unit discovered a drug laboratory in De Deur, Sedibeng, on Friday, 26 February 2021. No arrests have been made, police are searching for the suspect.

Police members were patrolling the N1 when they received information about drugs being manufactured at a plot in De Deur. On arrival, drugs described as crystal meth and cat as well as equipment and chemicals to manufacture drugs were found at the backrooms of the main house. The value of the drugs are yet to be determined.

Police are searching for a man that is allegedly renting the rooms from the owner of the house.

More drugs were recovered in the eastern side of Sedibeng, members of Highway Patrol Unit who were patrolling on N3 in Heidelberg received information of a vehicle delivering drugs in Ratanda. Upon reaction, a man was found in possession of drugs described as rock, mandrax and bags of nyaope. The man was arrested and charged with possession of drugs.

Members of newly the relaunched Highway Patrol Unit continue to make an impact on the reduction of crime in Gauteng.
