The Deputy Minister of Higher Education Mduduzi Manana was in trouble after failing to behave at a nightclub in Fourways and assaulted two women.
Just before the incident, he and the women apparently partied together and sat at the same table. An argument arose that he attacked the women. According to eyewitnesses, he followed the woman to the parking lot.
Manana has since admitted in a telephone conversation with a woman’s brother that he assaulted her because she called him “gay”.
