The Neonatal unit as well as the maternity unit of the Vosloorus Hospital were closed after the outbreak of Klebsiella, which already resulted in the death of six babies.

The already overcrowded hospitals in Gauteng will now have to deal with further pressure with patients referred to them. And it is now it is said that Gauteng needs more hospitals with the current 132% bed occupancy.
