Dealer nabbed with R800k worth of Crystal Meth, Pretoria

A multi-disciplinary approach driven operation by the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation, Benoni K9 and Crime Intelligence executed a search and seizure warrant which resulted to the arrest of a 36-year-old man in Sinoville on Friday, 26 March 2021.

Intelligence was received about suspicious drug dealings in Montana, Pretoria on Monday, 22 March 2021. The investigation team kept surveillance at the identified suspect’s residential address for two consecutive days.

On Friday 26 March 2021,, police pounced on the suspect with a search warrant. Upon searching the premises, five containers full of crystal meth with an estimated street value of R800 000 were seized. The suspect was immediately apprehended and charged for illegal dealing in drugs.

Further investigation revealed that in 2016, the suspect was convicted for illegal dealing in narcotics. He is expected to appear in the Pretoria North Magistrate’s’ Court on Monday, 29 March 2021.

The investigation is continuing.
