On Sunday afternoon, 16 August 2020, Netcare 911 responded to reports of a shooting at the Cradlestone mall in Krugersdorp.
It was believed a jewelry store situated in the mall had been robbed.
Reports from the scene indicate that an adult male security officer had sustained a gunshot wound to his right upper torso.
The patient a 40-year-old male had sustained critical injuries and was treated on scene by a Netcare 911 Emergency Care Practitioner.
Due to the nature of his injuries, a Netcare 911 Helicopter ambulance was activated to airlift the man to a specialist facility.
