Johannesburg flying squad members responded to a complaint of a cash in transit in progress at Heidelburg Road at about 13:40. Police members chased after the suspects vehicles, a white Golf 7 Gti and white Audi A5.
A shoot out occurred and the white Golf 7 Gti was recovered at Golden Walk Mall with three rifles (2 AK47 and 1 R5 rifle).
Four suspects were arrested by PHO Trio Task team and JHB K9 Unit.
The white Audi was also recovered in Alberton with two rifles (2 AK47) and one pistol (Smith and Weston). Both vehicles were reported hijacked, the Golf 7 in Bronkhorstspruit and the Audi in Lyttleton.
The Fidelity cash van was bombed and an undisclosed amount of cash was taken. The three Fidelity security officers were shot and rushed to Union hospital.
Investigations are continuing.
