Police are searching for approximately eight armed suspects following a cash in transit robbery that took place at Southdale Shopping Centre in Johannesburg at about 12:00.
It is alleged that the security officers were conducting their business at Southdale Shopping Centre when the driver was approached by about 8 suspects who pointed him with firearms, forcing him to open the cash van.
The suspects then took undisclosed amount of money from the cash van and escaped. The gateway car that was seen at the crime scene is a brown Audi A4. The is a possibility that the were other cars used by the suspects.
The security officer fired a shot at the suspects as they were escaping.
No injuries at the crime scene and police are searching for the suspects.
