On 1 July 2019, at about 23:00, SAPS and Metro Police officers were called at VIP Lounge Rosslyn for a business robbery in progress. There was a shootout before the police arrived between the owner and the suspects. One suspect was wounded and he is in hospital under police guard.

Police continued to search for the other suspects until this morning 2 July 2019, where five suspects were arrested in Soshanguve. During the arrest two unlicensed firearms were recovered. The suspects will be charged with attempted business robbery and the possession of unlicensed firearms.

Furthermore, three suspects were arrested in Sinoville for armed robbery that was committed at Montana Ligit Store. It is alleged that the suspects held the staff at gunpoint and robbed them undisclosed amount of money. The security guards blocked suspects’ getaway car.

Police were called and the suspects were arrested after they were found in possession of the robbed money, toy gun and three unlicensed firearms were recovered.

The arrested suspects will appear in Pretoria Magistrate’s Court soon.
