
A 39-year-old Brazilian drug trafficker was arrested upon arrival at OR Tambo International Airport on Friday morning after authorities discovered cocaine wrapped around his legs.
The suspect, who had flown in from São Paulo, landed at 09:00 and was in transit to Benin when police intercepted him during routine security checks. After being pulled aside for further inspection, a body search revealed packages of cocaine concealed around his legs.
The suspect was immediately arrested and is expected to appear before the Kempton Park Magistrates’ Court to face charges of drug trafficking.
Authorities have not yet released further details regarding the quantity of cocaine seized or whether the suspect was part of a larger trafficking network. Investigations are ongoing.
