Yes, a boerboel from Hartbeespoort, deserves a huge bone! An intruder at the property of Jody Gabriel of Ou Wapad, was chased by the dog into the swimming pool. Gabriel heard the noise and investigated. The housebreaker was trapped in the cold water with a furious Jes on the edge of the pool, ready to grab him!
Jody called for his wife and instructed her to call the security company. Meanwhile, the burglar escaped out of the pool and tried to jump over the wall of the neighbors where he then ran into two furious Pit bulls!
He had to choose: Two Pit Bulls on the one hand or a furious Boerboel on the other side, and consequently waited until the security company picked him up.
A axe and other burglary tools were found in his possession.
It reaffirms the desirability of keeping a reliable, angry dog, on the property and perhaps a small dog or two inside the house to warn you.
Remember, it’s not always good to go outside and investigate if there’s a noise – just call for help!
